Government Affairs

The Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee meets on the first Thursday of every month at the Macomb City Hall Community Room. (There is also a Zoom option) Each month the committee hears from a city, regional, or state official or other business leader in the community in order to stay up to date on legislative affairs that impact the Macomb area.

Every year, the Government Affairs Committee organizes the Legislative Day to Springfield. A group of 50-75 business leaders take a bus down to Springfield to meet with legislators regarding current issues and their effect on Macomb's businesses and overall quality of life.

The committee also plans an annual Legislative Luncheon in Macomb, where attendees are able to speak with and hear an update from our State Senator and Representative.

In 2020, the Chamber started a YouTube Channel in order to record and share Chamber events to the entire membership. A number of legislative Zoom meetings were recorded and can be viewed on our Channel.
